Crews with CH2M HILL Plateau Remediation Company are building a new road crossing and installing piping in preparation for a 50 percent expansion of the 200 West Pump and Treat, the Hanford Site’s largest groundwater treatment facility. The project — planned for completion in fiscal year 2021 — will boost capacity from 2,500 to 3,750 gallons per minute to allow additional treatment of hazardous chemical and radioactive constituents on Hanford’s Central Plateau, potentially shortening the period required to meet cleanup goals and resulting in significant cost savings.
